2014-Mar-26 - But that doesn't mean there's nothing going
Never a dull moment
The players are gone. The coaches http://www.wholesalecheapbearsjerseys.com/ are gone. Players don't report for training camp until July 31, and coach Mike Wholesale Jerseys McCarthy has given his coaching staff almost as much time off. The staff doesn't return until a few days before the players.
But that doesn't mean there's nothing going in the Packers' world. In fact, it seems like there's never a dull moment. Next up is the Johnny Jolly's drug trial, which is scheduled to begin today in Houston. As , if the defensive end is found guilty of illegal possession of 200 grams or more of codeine, he's almost certain to face a suspension from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
We'll be following from afar the developments of the trial. Cheap Jerseys Contract negotiator Russ Ball continues to make progress on negotiations with the recent draft picks. Yesterday, he finished the deal for tackle Wholesale Bears Jerseys Jamon Meredith, a fourthround draft pick. That means half of the eight draft picks are under contract. Raji and Clay Matthews have yet to be completed.
No one told me I was to appear in a video shoot yesterday www.wholesalecheapbearsjerseys.com otherwise I might have dressed a little nicer Cheap Bears Jerseys but the equally casuallooking Tom Pelissero and I discussed some of the things we learned from the OTAs and minicamp. You can watch it here.
AS FAVRE'S WORLD TURNS
According to Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Brett Favre was in the Twin Cities earlier this week to get his throwing arm checked out by a local doctor. No word on whether he signed his contract to play for the Vikings yet, but you've gotta believe it'll happen wholesalecheapbearsjerseys.com any day now.

2014-Mar-26 - Music of the Republic of Macedonia
Music of the Republic of Macedonia
(Macedonian: o , translit.: Izvorna muzika literally meaning: roots music)
The ethnic Macedonian traditional music, which can be rural or urban (starogradska muzika), includes: lyric songs, epic songs, labour songs, ritual songs, humorous songs, circle dance ("oro"), the old urban style called algija (not to be confused with chalga) etc. Popular traditional songs are: Kale bre Angjo, Sluam kaj umat umite, Biljana platno belee, Dafino vino crveno, , Zemjo Makedonska and many others. Often referenced oro dances are Tekoto from the village of Galinik, Kalajdiskoto, Komitskoto (The Dance of the freedom fighters) and others. An internationally acclaimed professional folklore association is the award winning Tanec.
The music of the Balkans is known for complex rhythms. Macedonian music exemplifies this trait. Folk songs like "Pomnish li, libe Todoro" (o , ooo) can have rhythms as complex as 22/16, divided by stanza to 2+2+3+2+2+3+2+2+2+2, a combination of the two common meters 11=2+2+3+2+2 and 11=3+2+2+2+2 (sheet music). In order to add tension to notes, musicians (primarily from older schools) will add the distinctive characteristic of stretching out beats.
The gajda (), a type of bagpipe, was the most common folk instrument in traditional Macedonian culture. It has now become an instrument for concert recitation, drawing on recent legends like Pece Atanasovski (video), leader of wholesale jerseys the Radio Skopje ensemble Ansambl na Narodni Instrumenti, as the source of modern tradition. Other instruments include:
upelka () small flute
kjemane () threestringed fiddle
tambura () longnecked lute
zurla () large doublereed horn
tapan () cylindrical drum
kaval () rimblown flute
harmonika (o) accordion
Macedonian folk orchestras consist of a clarinet or saxophone, drum kit, bass guitar, accordion and guitar, sometimes with modern synthesizers and drum machines. These orchestras are very popular in Macedonia. Popular members are virtuoso musicians Skender Ameti and Goran Alachki on accordion and Miroslav Businovski on Wholesale NFL Jerseys clarinet.
algija is an urban style, played by bands (algii) with a dajre (tambourine) and tarabuka (hourglass drum) providing percussion for ut (lute), kanun (zither), clarinet and violin. Though modern musicians have updated the algija into a spectrum of hard and soft, classical and pop sounds, Cheap Jerseys some traditional musicians remain. Perhaps the most influential of recent years was Tale Ognenovski, who plays a wide variety of traditional and modern sounds.
Newly composed folk music
The newlycomposed folk music (Macedonian: oooo o or ooo o ), is a contemporary popular style based on the traditional music. Usually, the older performers and composers (such as the highly acclaimed Aleksandar Sarievski, Jone Hristovski and Dobri Stavrevski) stay closer to the traditional roots, and thus some newlycomposed folk songs are often mistaken for traditional. On the other hand, the younger usually espouse a more modernized sound and image, thus often being disproved by the traditional purists as kitsch. Nevertheless, the style is popular among the common people and notable performers include: Elena Georgieva, Suzana Spasovska, Mitre Mitrevski, Efto Pupinovski, Vojo Stojanovski, Orce Stefkovski, Blagica Pavlovska, Dragan Vui, Zoran Vanev, Vaska Ilieva and others. Some of them also perform traditional songs. The newest generation of performers of this genre such as Blagojce StojanovskiTUSE, Sonja Tarculovska, Elena Velevska, Jasmina Mukaetova, Aneta Nakovska, Pane Panev altogether with the bands such as Bioritam, Bolero bend, Art Plaza have introduced a newer outlook to this kind of music inspired by the Serbian turbofolk, Bulgarian chalga, and Greek laika, so their style is more considered as popfolk, rather than folk music.
Several popular folk music festivals exist, including: Folk fest Valandovo in Valandovo, Serenada na irok www.mrcheapjerseys.com sokak in Bitola, Cvetnici in Skopje, Ohridski trubaduri Ohrid Fest in Ohrid and others.
Outside the Republic of Macedonia
Traditional as well as modern music is created and performed in other countries where ethnic Macedonian communities exist, which include primarily the Balkan countries surrounding Republic of Macedonia, as well as enclaves resulting from the diaspora in the US, Australia, Canada and other countries. A notable example is the folk musician Kostas Novakis from Greece (born in Koufalia, Thessaloniki regional unit, Greek Macedonia), who claims Macedonian ethnicity and performs traditional ethnic Macedonian music. Shortly after that, the first Macedonian radio concert was made, conducted by Todor Skalovski.
During the 1950s, the first Macedonian ballet by Gligor Smokvarski and opera Goce by Kiril Makedonski were produced. The period after these brought a relative renaissance of Macedonian music, focussed on innovation. The most prominent composers in this period are Zivko Firfov, Trajko Prokopiev, Stefan Gajdov, Todor Skalovski, Petre Bogdanov Kocko, Vlastimir Nikolovski, Blagoja Ivanovski, Tomislav Zografski, Toma Prosev and Mihajlo Nikolovski. From the diaspora, a notable performer is the Australian born, but ethnic Macedonian pianist Hristijan Spirovski. The most prominent conductors include Sasha NikolovskiGjumar, Borjan Canev, Sasho Tatarchevski, Bisera Chadlovska and Oliver Balaburski, and the most notable instrumentalist are the violinists Ljubisha Kirovski, Oleg Kondratenko and Russian born Anna Kondratenko, the saxophonist Ninoslav Dimov, the clarinetist Stojan Dimov, the basists Velko Todevski and Petrus Petrusevski and the oboist Gordana JosifovaNedelkovska. Among the composers are Darija Andovska, Jana Andreevska, Goce Kolarovski, Tome Mancev, Stojan Stojkov, Damjan Temkov, Valentina Velkovska, Soni Petrovski, Goran Nachevski, Boris Svetiev, Ljubomir Brangjolica, Michael Bakrnev and the composer, but also a cheap nfl jerseys performer, musicologist and researcher, Dimitrije Buarovski.

2014-Mar-26 - NFL owners should treat players as partners
NFL owners should treat players as partners
No matter what happens in the courtroom, NFL owners need to make a fundamental collective shift in their attitude. If they would treat the players like their partners instead of like underlings, or burdens, or prodigal sons, it would do a lot to dissolve the current tension and forestall future labor strife.
Clearly, the owners aren't there yet. They continue to resist the idea that players are entitled to much consent in business affairs, and they maintain resentment at what they cost, especially rookies. Which led to a strangely halfjoyful, halfcynical rite in Thursday's first round of the NFL draft at Radio City Music Hall.
Publicly, Commissioner Roger Goodell welcomed the expensive young stars of the future with hugs. Meantime, the owners were trying to kneecap them economically and Friday won the right to lock them out again temporarily in the hopes of convincing the appellate court to maintain the shutdown longerterm.
You had to respect Goodell's aplomb and good nature in dealing with the social awkwardness, as well as the jeering displeasure of frustrated fans. It was impossible not to discern that Goodell took genuine pleasure in calling the names of the draftees. He clearly understood the power of the moment for young men who worked their whole lives to be chosen in the first round, and he translated it with exuberant, ribcracking embraces, throwing out his arms to induct them into the brotherhood. He obviously thinks it's the nicest part of his job, and did it with deep feeling.
How could he not? There was Von Miller of Texas A possibly the game's next great linebacker, so overwhelmed to be chosen No. 2 by the Denver Broncos that he buried his face in a handful of tissues, his shoulders shaking. "I had an immediate flashback to Little League football, and to all the people who told me no, who told me I can't," he said.
There was Julio Jones of Alabama, a devastatingly talented wide receiver, wearing a demure bow tie and so thrilled to go No. 6 to Atlanta that he stammered with excitement. "If I have to block the whole game, that's what I'll do," he said, earnestly.
There was Patrick Peterson, the defensive back from Louisiana State chosen at No. 5 by the Arizona Cardinals, answering proudly when asked to describe himself: "I'm a young man in a profession."
The language was both disheartening and paralyzing: In the end, the NFL got a temporary stay in order to obtain a longer stay, pending an appeal Doug Gilmour L Jersey of an enjoinment of the lockout. What did all the legalese mean? Who cared? The better question was: Why can't both sides meet in the middle? The draft begged the question of why they are battling as adversaries through lawyers, instead of talking as allies in a tough but exciting and mutually enriching business?
Both sides are at fault for using legal threats like nuclear options. But ultimately, the main responsibility for the impasse rests with the owners. They're the ones who declared the status quo unacceptable, demanded $1 billion in concessions from the players, refused to fully open their books to demonstrate why, and then locked their teams out.
This is not meant to paint all owners as villains simply for being rich. Each has different outlooks and concerns. Some are highly leveraged; some are in distressed markets; some are rolling www.officialhockeyblues.com/Authentic-Wayne-Gretzky-Jersey in cash. Some are genuine entrepreneurs; some got lucky; some inherited their teams. You have to admire the impresario Jerry Jones, even if you disagree with his philosophy in building the $1 billion Cowboys Stadium, the largest Wayne Gretzky XL Jersey sports bar in the world. You have to respect the officialhockeyblues.com/Authentic-Doug-Gilmour-Jersey acumen of Bob Kraft, the basic decency of the Tisch family, the selfeffacement of Steve Bisciotti.

2014-Mar-26 - NFL players file suit in Pittsburgh over royalties
NFL players file suit in Pittsburgh over royalties
More than 560 retired professional football players filed a lawsuit in federal court in Pittsburgh over royalties they say the league owes them www.officialhockeyblues.com/Authentic-David-Backes-Jersey for using their images in commercials, bestof reels and replays of old games. District for Western Pennsylvania.
The estate of late Oakland Raiders safety Jack Tatum, whose collision with Steeler John Frenchy Fuqua set up Franco Harris Immaculate Reception on Dec. 23, 1972, Youth T.J Oshie Jersey is lead plaintiff in the lawsuit.
How many times have those images (from the Immaculate Reception) been shown? Daily? Hourly? said Luckasevic, a lawyer at the Uptown firm Goldberg Persky White. The NFL is making money off of that, but the players are not.
The NFL settled the previous case in March by forming a Common Good Fund to distribute the money to groups that help retired players with medical, housing and career transition costs, according to a statement the league released March 18.
We are disappointed that these retired players believe that additional litigation will be productive in the face of (Minnesota District) Judge (Paul) Magnuson decision in April finding that the settlement negotiated under the close supervision of the court is fair and reasonable, said NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy. We agree with the judge that the settlement will benefit the large class of retired players, particularly those in need of medical and financial assistance.
Luckasevic said musicians and actors receive royalties any time their songs or movies are played, and it should be no different for retired football players.
The players that make those films " the greatest hits of all time, the greatest games of all time " they get nothing for it, Luckasevic said.
